Oh man, you dont even know Greg! I'm burning a hole in my pocket waiting to spend some cash on seat time! If Jerry just man's up and offers Feb 11 at a one day cost I'll be there for sure!
BW and Laguna are definitely on my hit list for this season. I'll probably play hooky from work a few times this year just to get out on track! Let me know what dates you're planning to come out and I'll tag along with you!
The car should be completely dialed in by the end of the month so I'm hoping to start the season off in February

I'm with you! I really want to run with Shelby at least once this year and see how their run groups are. Do they always only have 3-4 events a year??
Lagna with TMR does sound good too!. I've never been there and I'm hoping to go at least once this year.

Between Shelby Club and Green Flag, there used to be 5-6 events per year. The economy has taken its' toll. Green Flag has pretty much evaporated and Shelby is down to 3 events per year.
Compared to NCRC, Shelby Club run groups are compressed towards the lower end. There is no difference in passing rules between intermediate (red) and experienced (green). Green group is supposed to be a bit faster but 20-30% are really running intermediate groups speeds. Both groups do not allow passing in the turns.
I like Shelby Club because a lot of my friends only run Shelby Club (if the Shelby Club was to give up hosting track days, there would be a lot of cars for sale).
Given that, I would recommend Shelby club for novice to intermediate level drivers. Advance level drivers would be better by running with clubs that allow full course passing. Getting used to two wide in the turns will make you comfortable with running with any club.
