What is needed to swap over a 1996 explorer 5.0 (gt40) into a fox?

So far I know it needs cam and valve springs updated along with distributor and harness connections swapped.

Is there anything else I would need to swap over before dropping the motor in a fox like oil pan/pump, timing cover etc?

Crazy question on the build, why not put the heads and intake on a fox 302?

Original 302 is blown and has gone to shit. Got a couple leads on lower mileage explorer motors for a decent price.

seems like a solid minimum bs drop in solution. And cheap too.

You should be able to just put your mustang sensors and bolt on's onto the explorer motor. No need to redo electrical clips.

I guess I meant the sensors not harness. Thanks for clarifying

What about oil pan/pump will the ecplorrer ones be fine?

And timing cover and motor mounts what about those any thing need to be done there?

I would compare pan when you see it and a set of fox motor mounts on any Windsor will be correct. Timing cover will most likely be correct it's all efi so I don't see a difference. Fox accessories and brackets would probably be needed tho
