I'm looking to buy a fox with a blown headgasket the guy said couple days after having all the gaskets replaced and new cam,oil pump water pump, lifters and double roller chain indtalled on a stock 302 if that makes any difference. What would cause the gaskets to blow so soon

overheated, faulty installation, re-used factory head bolts, faulty gaskets, possibly intake gaskets, warped head(s)

So I bought the car and from what the seller told me he said that when installing the old heads they didn't resurface them and used the original bolts. I got a set of gt40 heads and going to buy new head bolts and tear apart as soon as I get these gaskets and bolts in

ahhh man, knew it. Just make sure to have those gt40's checked out with a straight edge or have them resurfaced to be safe. Don't take anyone's word that they are good unless the machine shop confirms it. Good luck man!

Also, invest in ARP hardware specifically studs if you can afford it. They can be re-used if need be.
