Anybody know if its necessary to swap out the body and dash harness from an 86 or can i just use the 86 under hood harness with computer. I already have the fuel issue worked out. Just wondering about the engine harness and cluster working

I dont have to use the body or dash harness right? Just the engine and the rest plugs in direct minus the fuel pump

you dont need the body harness of any of that.. the 86 engine harness plugs right in tot he 85 dash/body harness.. thats how I did it for my boys 85 gt and everything plugged right in and worked perfect.. quick & easy!
