How big of a cam can I go with stock heads or before I start up grading stuff

From what ive read you can't even use a simple e-303 cam without upgrading your stock springs to be able to support the lift.

^ Agreed, when my stock 5 oh decided to chew up a lifter,when replacing the cam & lifters, I started searching & found a set of gt40 heads & a separate set of trickflow valvesprings & retainers online for decent prices.Why waste your time doing a cam upgrade with stock e7's & intake when the motor has to be torn down so far anyway? just my 2c...
