**Update: Changed spark plugs to copper ones today, runs a lot better but now instead of bogging at 5k it starts bogging at 6k lol**
Like the title says. got a 1997 cobra and it runs great and revs fine in neutral.
Under heavy acceleration the car is fine up until about 5k rpm then it seems to fall flat and lose power above 5000 rpms.
I already cleaned the MAF any idea of what else it could be? [ 2015-02-11, 01:34 PM: Message edited by: 90GT510 ]

Stuck IMRC plates, delete them,or clean them...Or a fast way is to just zip tie them open from the butterly that the cable opens up...

Thanks this is very helpful info. I'll zip tie them tomorow as a diagnosis. If it doesn't take car of the issue looks like I'll have to check spark plugs, wires etc

Sounds like when my IMRC were stuck closed. Zipped tied both sides and problem was solved. You can delete them and plug the rod holes so air doesnt cross between ports.

its proving to be a bitch reaching back there trying to zip tie them. its too cold now ill go back and try a little later. I felt where the one on the driver side was. it looks near impossible to reach the passenger side one.
Any tips on where to zip tie and the best way to approach this? [ 2015-02-02, 07:27 AM: Message edited by: 90GT510 ]

Hey 90GT510,
Sorry this is happening to you, Those IMRC's can be a pain in the butt sometimes. I'd either delete or clean them. Be wary of smog regulations and laws if you decide to delete them though.

idk when or what kind of spark plugs it got. I was going to check this after if the zip tying of the IMRC didn't solve the issue.

Thanks for the offer. Although I think I can tackle this one, shouldn't be too crazy.

No problem. Just take your time and while you're in there you can clean up surrounding parts to detail up your engine bay (if needed).

Yes I just did plugs at .054 auto lite coppers. I think I'll be moving on to fuel filter and coil packs (has accel coil packs) and plugs next.
