My neighbor has a 1994 f 150 automatic that he asked me to look at before taking it to a mechanic. It starts up and has brand new gas and is driven regularly and just recently started to stall when you accelerate. It starts just fine and will go into drive, but as soon as you accelerate it dies. Is it the fuel pumps?

Just a couple things off the top of my head.

Check fuel pressure
Check TPS voltage
Clean MAF
Check vacuum lines for leaks
