I have a 347 that was built with 440 crank hp. I am porting and polishing the 165 AFR heads and wanted to see what you all thought about my intake situation. I have an Edelbrock Performer intake as well as a cobra intake. What are your thoughts on best intake for this application?

I was also thinking about having the intake powder coated inside out. Because the plenum has the removable plate it could completely coat all the way through as well as lower. Now this may be a stupid thought as I'm not that knowledgable but seems as though a faster easier way to smooth runners for flow. Has anyone done this? Am I off my rocker? Would it be as beneficial as polishing? Thanks in advance.

Sell the cobra and use the money to tmoss fully port the edelbrock rpm so you can pull hard to 6k+ or sell both and get a rpm2...but the ported rpm would be a better match for those small heads...

Honestly I wouldn't spend the money on porting 165's. Sell them and the intakes. Get 185's, either a rpm2 or victor intake.

When I was looking at this option for my engine, a lot of people suggested Holley Systemax.

In the end I went with a GT40 because I like the looks better than the Holley.

Your motor made 440hp with a performer intake and 165s? I'm skeptical.... But none the less Holley and 185s would do you good

I am running similar set up but larger heads 195's and a holley systemax and did 392 to wheels and close to 430 to crank. Holley systemax 75 mm tb and 80mm maf 30lbs injectors. I wd say get a Holley and bigger heads.
