Typically, a 'roller block' is an engine block set up from the factory for simple installation of a hydraulic roller cam. It will have the proper provisions for securing and lubricating the lifters without any aftermarket parts.

The late 85 5.0 block was said to be a roller block but no roller hardware was used yet at that time.

In my case, the block has been in my garage on rollers so long, I'm beginning to think it'll never get finished. [Razz]

Close, but no cigar. 1985 was the first year for the roller cam, last year with a carb, I have one. [Wink]

It could be from a truck or bronco. They used roller blocks but had flat tappet cams in them. Roller hardware will go rite in it. There should be two threaded holes in the valley. It should also have xxx or yyy cast in the valley.
