Looking for a shop to work on my 88 gt, I have a mean oil leak I can't track down. I been under the car countless times cleaning and trying to track it down but no luck. I would prefer a shop in Merced/Modesto but let me know who's good.

Sounds like your rear main seal went out

Can you replace that with the motor in the car or do you need to pull it?

Yes you can but what I ussually do is pull motor out with transmission remove the tran clutch and fly wheel then drill 2 litle holes directly across from each other in the seal use 2 screw drivers and pull the old seal out then find a big desiel socket or something to push the new seal in

No need to pull motor and trans to do a rear main that's just way to much extra work for yourself, pull the bellhousing/trans/clutch/flywheel and you can access it right there...
