i installed 1.7 roller rocker stud mounts n where making lots of clacking took valve cover off then did more tighter of a adjustment i first did a qurter turn n was too lose now i did a full turn n still makes a noise but not as bad n has more power anyone knoe exactly how to adjust them i have stock lifters 289 heads f cam 1.7 rockers stud mount

thank you after doing this should it make any noise at all? some friends said that the air gots to bleed out drive it around ?

may need valve springs if its clanging in the higher rpms i switched to 1.7s no cam and got valve float that happens around 5500 rpm

heads are 289 frshly built with good springs its just making alot of noise clicking clacking i just put the heads on n my brother adjusted the rockers n then i started it up made hella noise n it wouldnt go away so we thought lifters where bad they where summit brand so i put stock ones back in then re adjusted 1/2 turn n still made noise then i looked at a video the other night and followed what he did n he did a full turn on zero lash n is quieter but still too loud

Did you check your piston to valve clearance? An F cam with 1.7's comes out to .544" of lift. That may be too much for most stock pistons that aren't notched for the extra lift.

i looked into it alot of ppl say it would work but idk i should have checked i ran the car already n didnt hit but my buddy said if i miss shift or over rev it mite hit idk wat to do but i think i need some 1.6 rr

did you soak the lifters in oil before installing them?

despite popular belief lift is not the most important factor in PTV clearance. Duration, cam lobes, and where it is degreed plays a bigger role. I run .574 lift exhaust lobe with stock pistons with TFS 170s.

u cant adjust those un less u put in screwin studs the pressin studs o those heads run out of threads dude u need to have the right springs too for that cam and with that u risk a stud pulling out because they are press in it will happen been there done that scrap thise heads and get real ones. all it takes is one over rev and valve float will smack ur pistons cuz ur spring are too soft fyi

good to go run it. Ur best bet is to take one head off and run putty on it to be 100% sure but if u have the right springs i don't see why u would have valve float the only other thing is coil bing but hey sounds like ur already running it so..
