Where to start, was getting off freeway and the car jerked like it was losing power, then ran normally. Next turn, it died completely and wouldnt start back up, waited five minutes and it ran. Long story short, it died for good. Initially, i wasnt getting fuel. Pump wasnt coming on, didnt think to check for spark.

But, after jumping the pump, still no fire. So i checked, no spark.

I also had the connecter on the right side of engine bay touch the headers, the one that runs down the strut tower. Runs to the o2 sensors. Melted, but didnt expose any connectors. Could this have fried ecm?

I had something similar to this, in my case turned out to be the TFI module on the distributor.

Pull it and have it tested at the shop.

Yes, the module is the common link between the ECU and fuel pump relay.

Had this issue happen a few weeks back. Driving down the road it acted as though it was going to die, went to pull over and it burped a bit and was fine, weird but drove another 30 miles no prob. A bit later went to drive it and got about 5 miles it died completely and wouldn't start again. Had to tow it back, let it sit over night and it started right up. Changed the Distributor and haven't had the problem and have driven it over 700 miles since!

Two different distributors? Would a bad pickup stop fuel and spark? No battery voltage at ign. Coil, and fuel pump. I switched the fuel pump relay with the other relay next to it.

The injectors get a duty cycle from the pickup coil. I'll look at work today for a resistance value for it. But the fuel pump shouldn't be affected by it, or the coil. U could even have a bad ignition switch. Try wiggling the key and see if u can find a sweet spot where u hear the pump kick on. If that works, replace the ignition switch

Your tfi module is "overheating" after it cools that's what allows the car to run again. Replace bro I had this problem plenty of times

Replaced tfi with two known working ones and a brand new. Also used different dist. Entirely, i also replaced fuel pump relay, and ignition switch. I am at a loss.

I tested the power wire, red at fuel pump relay and according to diagram i should see 12v, i see 3.6. I pulled fusible links none are bad, so far
