so i tried the flasher. and nothing. its weird cause the back stays solid but the front doesnt do anything. but the bulb works. would this be the multi function switch now? or could be a ground problem? or ? fuse?

I would say ground or fuse before the switch. Mine started doing similar (bulbs get brighter but dont actually flash unless I toggle manually) when I did the whole hide the starter relay / front end lighting job. I haven't had a chance to track down the issue though.
