I got a couple questions about Tremec transmissions because someone is selling me one for about $350 and says it has low miles that its almost new im not sure about what model it is I havent really seen it...but here are my questions... Can it bolt up to a 93 Mustang or is there any modifications needed or anything else needed like bell housing or other things changed? Would the same shifter that i use in my 5 speed work with the tremec? Or any other things i should know about it? I want to know what I get into first before purchasing something or doing something to my car....Any info would help thanks

Depends what model, your shifter will not work, may need a new clutch, and will need a new bell housing

For that price I am assuming that it's a Tremec T-5, if so it will bolt right up.
Now if it's the 3550 then you would need a new bell housing, shifter and modified cross member
If it's a TKO you will need a new shifter, bell housing, driveshaft yoke, in some cases depends if it's 10 spline or 26 spline input shaft you would need a new clutch and have to modify your tranny cross member.... [ April 08, 2011, 11:00 AM: Message edited by: Greasy ]
