IM HAVING A PROBLEM STARTING MY CAR. ITS A 65 MUSTANG WITH C4 TRANS, 302 BLOCK, WHEN I TURN THE KEY , IT BARLEY TURNS THE ENGINE OVER LIKE THE BATTERY IS DYING, ITS A NEW BATTERY , NEW MINI STARTER FROM 93 MUSTANG, ALL MY CABLES ARE NEW AND TIGHT, TURNS ALITTLE THEN CLICKS, AS I TAKE THE STARTER BOLTS OFF , SEEMS LIKE THE STARTER GETS STUCK AND MAYBE NOT LINED UP RIGHT, SO I HAV TO WIGGLE IT ALITTLE TO COME OUT, SOMEONE TOLD ME TO USE WASHERS? ANYONE HEARD OF USING WASHERS??ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED, BTY IS A 157 TOOTH FLEXPLATE, THANKS

i had an issue like that and it was the battery ground. it may look like you have a good battery ground but i would save the headache and check that first.

engine to frame ground is also what i put and had no issues after that

nothing wrong with an extra ground strap. especially on an old school. i had a coupel extra grounds when i had my 69. i used the oem style starter with no problems ever.
