So, I put together my motor on my car recently, has a 304 block, will aluminum edelbrock performer heads, 1.6 roller rockers, pushrods, 24lb injectors with the calibrated maf, longtubes, edelbrock performer intake, and it starts up fine, but when I hit the gas it starts to pop from the intake, wont even take off right then it starts to overheat, I check the firing order and its fine. Im confused on what it could be the timing is set on 12 degrees.

first pull codes

Then check

firing order on plugs
vacuum leaks
check all grounds.

If that does not work

check the rockers, make sure they are not over tight.

Make sure all connections are secure and there are no freyed wires
