Almost bought an f cam then almost bought a tfs1. Not looking for custom grind, just want an off the shelf cam that would be good for my app.

Stock short block
Ported eddy upper and lower intake
70mm tb and spacer, 73mm maf
Gt40 heads 1.7rr
3:45s with tbird turbo coupe tranny (shorter gears)
Cai
255lp with stock lines and 24#s inject
L/Ts o/r h-pipe
msd 6al

I ran a b-303 cam with pretty much that same set up and loved it. It had great mid-upper rpm pull.
also had a nice choppy idle.

TFS 1 with 1.7 rockers. Pretty solid cam in my opnion for that setup.

I'm not expert but if you are running stock springs, retainers, locks etc and 1.7RR it would best best to stick with the stock cam.

For starters you may run into PTV clearance. Then with the TFS1 cam it has a Valve Lift with 1.6 Rocker Arms of .499 in. intake/.510 in. exhaust. With 1.7 RR it's .530 in intake/.542 in. exhaust. I am not sure what the stock springs are rated for but I would guess that it's either right at the border or over the limit.

my old 90Gt went 106mph with stock heads and a tfs1, not to bad. Car was about 3400 with me in it.

Just my thought spend the money on a cam that needs to be ground you will make way better HP then any off the self cam with the same numbers. Ramp speeds and lobe sepperation is more important then most guys think.
If that is not an option for you i would reccomend a Anderson motorsports cam........
