I run 91 oct at chevron only.its been pinging with the air on only.it also has been getting hot with the air on also.

What is your timing set at? My old 95 used to ping pretty bad when the timing was too far advanced.

12 deg.I was told that it is supposed to be 10 but it seemed alittle slugish

I couldn't advance the timing at all on my 95. Anything higher than 10-12 and I would ping.

I put in a lower temp tstat and added water wetter, cleaned the TB and put on a new gasket. When I pulled the TB off, there was no gasket between it and the mani. This is a one owner car and the tb has never been off, so it must have been a factory screw up or something. After that, it's never pinged again.

what degree thermostat should i be running in the summer?
