Alright I just picked up an 85 with a Carb.
Underneath the dash is a mess as the guy before had an alarm professionally intalled, but the next owner (before me) removed it and bypassed the clutch safety switch. So you can start it without being in gear.
Today I was idling, gave it some gas and a spark fell onto my foot from above the gas pedal and the car died.
What is up there that can short and cause no spark?
I pulled down a plastic black box with two connectors going into it, made of plastic and is held onto something with two screws. It smells pretty fried. What is it called?
The box is about 2" tall by 4" wide.
