Got a 88 gt it had an 85 mph cluster. switchd it for a 140 from a 92. wierd part is that when the e-brake is on the tach doesnt work. gauges are always lit headlights on or not. Left turn signal marker works but with the right the tach gauge from like 6500 through redline blinks.
anyone know wtf is goin on here? is it as simple as switchng some of the wires in the clip or is it the cluster. Also my radiator turns the water a color that looks rusty. is that the radiator or something else?
help me out peeps.

sounds like some mixed up wires to me...did your last cluster do what the 140mph cluster is doing?? did you accidently pull out any wires??
and as for the rusty looking crap in your radiator...you are in need of a coolant flush

Have to use an 89 140 cluster for the 87/88 cars
There is some pinout differences(wiring locations within the connectors) between the 87-89 and 90-93 clusters

here ya go, pay close attention to the wire chart. The pinouts are as if the plug is facing you.
