ok just got an 01 lightning yesterday and wanna know wats the safest power adders i can put. has 88k. i know changing the pulley is the shit. but all the stories about blown heads, head gaskets and all i dont really wanna go that route yet. its bone stock. wat cold air, exhaust chip and tune what you guys think? let me know wat experiences you guys came across. thanks.

Don't have any personal experience.. but here is what I would do.

- Steigmeir ported blower pullied for a couple pounds extra boost

- AFCO heat exchanger

- Bassani exhaust

- JLT intake

- Custom dyno tune by AED

you should do a 6lb lower, tr6 ngk plugs, a tune, a catback with catless mids, cold air....i had a 03 L and its not hard to get it going. Just depends on what you want to spend. Dont believe everything you read on the internet to scare you away from what you want to do. You just have to do it right.

FYI... make sure you look closely at your spark plugs. not too sure on aftermarket plugs, but im using the same plug as the lightning on my 50.. AGSF32c. ford had a issue on lighting cylinder heads and those plugs, at 1st the plugs only had 5 or less threads and spark plugs were shooting out of the head due to the threads...... ford has updated the plugs,
