Ok well today i hop on the freeway and my car starts to act up. As i have my foot on the throttle my car starts to jerk or jump around, kind of like it wants to bog out. Well my vehicle shut down twice on me today while driving. this only happens when my foot is on the throttle no other time. Any suggestions, this my only vehicle so i need to figure this out. Thanks. Fuel pump going out.???

has this problem come on gradually or was it just an instant thing? and roughly how far into the throttle are you? basically just wondering whether its during light cruising or full throttle. lmk

you might just need to do a tune up, maybe check your fuel filter, just check all the simple things first, have you modified anything lately that could have helped to make this problem?

Could be a dirty fuel filter. But this same problem happened to me and it turned out to be a dirty MAF wire. If you clean your MAF wire be very careful, it is fragile, and you should use special MAF cleaning fluid.

have you hooked up a gauge and measured fuel pressure yet? at idle and under load? don't take it to the dealer, you can fix this yourself...

also scan for codes and see what you get...

Sounds like it's low on magic. [Razz]

See if you can pick up another stock distributor and install it. My old 94 would jerk, stall out or not start.. even after a tune up, confirming fuel pressure was good and all the other usual ideas. Installed a known good distributor, problem solved.

If the problem turns out to be your TFI, Ford will pay your costs for repairing it including parts and labor. They lost a class action lawsuit about faulty TFIs.
