ok so i have a 1996 cobra, and my water pump went out yesterday.. so im thinking of upgrading it. Ive heard good things about the electric ones, but they are expensive.. im willing to spend the extra money if they are a lot better than a mechanical one.. so my questions are..

what should i do, Upgrade with an electric or a better mechanical one or just replace with a stocker?

if i upgrade, what kind of water pump should i get?

what brand is best?

ive heard it will free up a bit more horsepower.. is this right?

Stay with the stock one and make sure you flush out any coolant in your block with a garden hose [Big Grin]

you can either go with the stock replacement one or get one for a lincoln aviator.. they bolt up the same but just flow more.. a good upgrade if you don't wanna go with an electric water pump...

Moroso makes a good pump. Stay away from Edelbrock.
