I have a low mile lincoln lsc 5.0 short block.
I was looking for the best cam to go with gt-40 turbo swirl heads and 1.7 rockers without worring about piston to valve clerance issues. any thoughts?

Ok, the B cam with 1.7's is .510 lift 224 duration at .050 and 112 lobe center. The F cam is .512 lift 226 duration and 114 lobe center. The X cam is 542 lift with 224 duration and 112 lobe center. So you end up with an X cam with just under an F cam lift. Now that I look at the F cam, it should make a good off the shelf blower cam.

Yes, rocker arm ratio will change duration slighly, if the valve opens sooner because of the higher ratio rocker arms it is effectivly changing duration, not much but it does change. May be 1-2 degrees. And BTW saying that a certain rocker arm W/ certain cam makes it like another is like comparing apples to oranges!!! There are sooo many different lobe profiles out there that even if the lift is the same and even duration that you can have 2 very different cams. AND the LSC motor (I think) had a dish piston without valve reliefs, SO I think you can effectivly run about 510 lift. Remember that the wider the lobe seperation that usually means that you can not run as much lift! TIghter lobes you can (usually) get away with a little more lift. AND if this is in a LSC I would put a stock HO cam in it with 1.7's and call it a day!! More tourqe and it will be faster!! Please check with clay!!!!

The lsc pistons have the same valve reliefs as a stock 87 up mustang 5-liter.

Just take the total lift, divide it by 1.6, take that number and multiply it by 1.7 and you have the new lift numbers.
E cam: .498 with 220 duration at .050
with 1.7's its a .529 lift and .535 with a 1.72 rocker.
