Have to remove the front cover to get to the cam. I know it's possible to leave them together, but will it leak if I do it?

I'd like to leave it as a unit because I'm trying to save some time and work. Anyone done this?

I hate scraping gaskets!

I take mine off like that all the time. as long as you don't break the water pump seal you should be ok. But i use rtv on both sides of the gasket to hold it in place and seal some. I never had any problems.
