what would be a good choice for headers and exhaust?cam?carb size?

long tubes, straight pipes, magna flow mufflers.

X cam, appropriate cfm holley carb, N20.. yeah!

No 289's after '68. Unless it was a swap. Previous list is a good one. An RPM II intake and better carb, headers and gears will make it lots more fun to start.
