The teeth on a flywheel are only for the starter right? I read when putting a 5.0L in my 65' I'd need to replace the flywheel with a 50oz balance and 157 teeth so It would be compatibale with my early model c4. I have the 88's starter so can I use my 88's flywheel and use on my c4. If not would I have to use my 65's starter.

You need the 157 tooth to fit the C-4 bell housing, the Ford Racing makes the 50oz. one for 140.00 part# M-6375-E302

Don't you also need to replace the harmonic balancer? If not, you will have a 28 oz imbalance harmnonic balancer, and a 50 oz imbalance flywheel/flex plate. I normally do both sides when I make a change. There must be some one smarter than me out there about engine balance components.

The motor is a 50oz. imbalance, so that part is right if you are you the 5.0,s accessories and belt's. Otherwise you need the 50oz one with the three hole pattern for the 65's v-belt,if you do that you have to change the water pump so the brackets are right for the older accessories.
