if my water pump that spins the fan is leaking down to my engine crank, does that mean i need a new water pump? all of a sudden it started leaking.. what could be the problem?

There is a "weep hole" that leaks when they are bad so Id say yes, but make sure it leaking from there.

Just go get a new water pump. Assuming you have a 5.0, a stock replacement is only like $20.
