will i need to get an idler pulley, or belt tensioner, if i go with a 2.81 pulley on my cobra?

I would... I had one when I only had a 2.93... belt wrap is your friend!

Not 100% necessary but like said a very, very good idea.
BF 100mm aux idler. I think they look the best.
Gates 74.5" belt

No prob.
Forgot to mention that belt length is assuming the remaining idlers are stock.\
Don't forget to get a good tune for that pulley.
