Well I got my strange struts finally, and the stockers came off easy enough...BUT...the damn strut mount will not come off.
Its got a slot for like a screwdriver or something, and the threads go all the way to the top so I can't use vise grips, I tried an impact wrench and its just spins the shaft, what the hell?
any help greatly appreciated

Is the car jacked up? If so, put it back on the ground. Weight on the CC plate will help in removal. If you've already got it off the ground, pull the CC plate with it...and use a set of vise grips on the strut shaft once it's outta the car.

I have lost a years off my life being stubborn and playing with struts without an impact, lol
Now I know better. I won't even attempt them without an air impact now. I have cut the nut before, and I have used the vice grip method which damaged the threads

GOT IT! damn that was tough, I cut the nut off and saw that it had been completely fused to the bolt with rust
