What is your opinion on gutting out your catalic converters? And how do you do this? I got a magnaflow x with cats and its too quiet. I sounds good untill the exaust hits the cats?

I wouldnt do it. The smell sucks and it can get very irritating. I dont think the noise is going to be worth it. Also you might not know how loud your car actually is. I have almost no interior noise with my mags. However, outside the car its very loud. Have a buddy drive your car and stand on it a couple of times. You might like what you hear.

I have a Bassani catted H pipe. It's almost brand new. I would be willing to trade. The car will definitely pick up a little more tone with an H pipe. PM me if you're interested.

Get an aftermarket pipe w/o cats and keep the stocker for smog inspections. Its also nice to have when you sell the car.

Well, i gutted out the cats on my magnaflow x pipe and like it a lot better. It sounds a lot deeper and you can hear the cam a lot more at idle. I noticed little less power down low but higher rpms it pulled a lot better. The only thing that i didnt like about it was how you can slightly hear the exaust bounce around in the cat at very low rpms.

I have a 2.5 inch Mac H pipe, that I gutted the cats on hoping for the same sound as an O/R h. I was disappointed, It doesn't even sound near as good as a straight through O/R pipe.
