I recently saw 2 cars with home porting on the exhaust side of stock heads come out running like poop. Both have cam and intake with stock heads gasket matched to the header gasket. All supporting parts are there, injectors, t/b, air meter, exhaust etc...
Could it be the poting? Any ideas? ANY?

Just porting the heads and not changing anything else really isn't going to do much for you. You need to look at the complete package from begining to end. To move more air out you have to be able to get more air in which requires more fuel. Compression? Valve timing/sizes? Spark? Etc, etc. People think they can make some lareger holse and get magical HP gains out of them. Just go for a well balanced combo and things are a LOT easier.

Define "running like poop"
Did they loose power or do they just not run right? It basically could be anything. If you don't port heads correctly you can definitely loose power. However, if the hard idles bad or has drivability issues it could be something else.

I home ported a set of heads and they worked good. I didnt try to make a 4V Cleavland out of them but did open them up quite a bit and they ran hard.
