I'm assuming for my car, a 98 lowered 1 1/2 to 2 inches, that for 18x9 wheels the correct tire size would be 240/40/18? What are you guys running and not having problems with?

well i have a 2001 with the same size rim and have 295/35/18 in the rear and 265/35/18 in the front with no promlems at all.
but just to be safe i would go one step smaller since you have a different body.
285/35/18 in rear and 255/35/18 in front.

How much are your cars lowered? The 35 doesn't seem like it takes up much of the wheel well if it is only lowered an inch and a half.

Yup. I'm lowered 1.75 front and 1.5 rear. I've had ZERO problems with clearance, rubbing, or ride. The fronts are 18x9's. Yours is lowered a little more than mine, I think. Saw yours yesterday at the show, very nice lookin' car.

Ok, I hope I say this right. The number 35 (or 40,45,60 etc) is a constant percentage of the "p" number, this percentage gives you the sidewall height. So a p295/35/18 is gonna have a higher sidewall than a p275/35/18 even though they have the same 35 percent. So a 295 will be wider AND taller amd will take up more wheelwell space all things equal. 265-275/35's take up alot a space for the front.

Thanks for the explanation. That helps a ton, hopefully the 98s have close to the same amount of wellspace as the 99+
