the cobra has been running very hot all the time, in traffic, at 3am on the freeway, in sac at 105* outside, doesnt matter, it always would run at 205*-210*, metered by an autometer gauge
the thermostat only had about 400 miles so it should have worked, well it did, I pulled it out today and tested it in water on the stove, it poped at 185*, so it was working
put it all back together with no thermostat, it would run between 170*-175*, and its hot out today, and that is with the fan turn to manual off
just thought i would share FWIW

Is it a hi flow thermostat?
Usually when you take the thermostat out it does not allow the water to set in the radiator long enough ie it circulates too quickly and does not disappate the heat into the cooler tubes and fins as the water rushes througth too fast.
Wonder what the case is with your setup?

well its runs at an alomst perfect 180, so i think it is doing a great job
like when u run an electric pump, u dont use a thermostat
and its noyt a blown hg, timing is at 14* finally set right side story
and its got a 3 core brass radiator with a electric fan, so why it ran at 210 is a mystery
