The stock fox comes with a fan clutch set up. Is there an advantage in running one of those old school one piece solid metal fans? [burnout]

gotta remember that with a serpentine belt you need a reverse flow type fan- the fan pulley runs in opposite direction from normal---hmmmm,,that means the clutch fan assy operates reversely too?

I dont recommend the flex fan at all. It didnt cool down crap enough for high heat, slow traffic with the a/c on.

Perhaps that it's lighter it will free up a slight amount of HP, but it's not worth it from the sacrifice of cooling.

Keep the original fan. It cools better than flex. A metal flex fan will also cut your fingers goooood! [Embarrassed]

flex fans don't free any power since they do not have a clutch like an OEM fan. They probably rob up to 10 HP at high rpms because of that.

only application I see is if you wanted to be cheap and don't mind risking your fingers/hands/hood to a 3,000 rpm guillotine
