Hi...kinda wierd question but here it goes...
I have a relative that has a 1987 Lincoln Continental (real fuggin ugly car) but it has a fuel injected 302 that just turned over 80k miles. I am guessing it may be similar to the one in the Mark VII of that year but I'm not quite sure. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody would know anything about this particular engine. I am thinking of removing it and dropping it into a 1986 Mustang GT shell w/o an engine or transmission (I would obviously get a different transmission). I believe the car also has 4 wheel disk brakes and five-lug rotors. Wondering if this may be a worthwhile project. Just looking for decent transportation that wouldn't embarass me. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

The mark is an HO though.

If it's your last resort you can use it but it wont have forge pistons and all you would need to do is do a cam swap.

one other thing the intake manifold faces the other direction towards the driver side fender and hella accesorie pulleys i used to have a 89 town car, and i think the cam and heads are dfferent

Actually, on this Continental, the upper intake manifold faces the exact same direction as my '89 5.0 (toward the passenger side fender). Airbox is in same exact location. It looks pretty similar. But as Fostang noted, the heads and cam as well as pistons are probably different. I dunno...just a shot in the dark. yes, you can install it in your stang but you'll
have to switch out a few things
like the intake has gotta go especially with that very very small throttle body.
the cam will have to be replaced with a stock mustang (ho) cam or better.change firing order.
the heads i believe the heads are the e7te's if not maybe e6se's,and i maybe wrong but i thought the 86-whatever had forged pistons.?

Yeah...I'm not exactly sure what I am going to do yet. I'll have to do a little more research. I was just considering a hands-on project where I could learn a little bit more. Thanks for the responses guys.

I do alot of "yarding". For mostly odd ball parts.
All makes/models.
Even if intake points to the pass. side
Check the firing order!!
Ho's different than standard 5.0.
If you find a lincon lsc. Smashed pounce on it.
