How many miles are on the engine?...Do you burn any oil, is the dipstick always on "full"?...

If your 5.0 is running fine, I'd suggest a 10w30

Sounds like your motor is in great condition for the milage. Much better than mine was at that milage. Keep using the oil you have been. I'm at 245K miles and burn a quart of regular 20-50w in a tad more than 1,000 miles.

Oh another questioon while im here. When i step on the gas hard the car will blow a puff of black smoke at like 4000 rpms or so, but just a quick cloud thats it and be fine accelaerating all the way up to like 5000. It just seems to blow that cloud on the initial hard accel. Doenst somke at idle, doesnt smoke on the freeway when driving normal. I was told that meas i could be running rich is that true? If so how do i stop it from running rich. And the O2 sensors are new.

Why shouldn't you use synthetic in a 5.0?
