who would win im gonna race my cousin tommorow he has a 98 Z28 with throttle body and cold air kit and its an automatic. I have a 2002 GT 5spd with cold air kit,pro chamber off road pipe,75mm throttle body,and 2 chamber flowmasters.just wanted to see what you guys would say.ill let you guys know what happens.
We Raced from 1st gear roll we were even through 1st and 2nd and in third I started to pull. GT wins by 1 1/2 cars. ![[dance]](graemlins/dance.gif)

If you are racing from a stop, my guess is you get the jump and he runs you down.

I gotta say with sticky tires and u get the jump you will take him up until the 1320 if it goes 1325 you will loose.

i raced a new (at the time) stock trans am with a 6 speed and my car (2002 gt) at the time just had flows, 3.73's and short shifter and i got him about half a car length all the way to 5th gear! but it all depends on the driving skills too. good luck and smoke him! jon

equal drivers? equal tire? LS1 by 6 cars or more.
The 4V NA cobras are the ones that will be close (but still lose)

If you're racing from a stop, and you get a good launch, you'll probably stay ahead until the end of 3rd gear and then he'll blow by you. From a roll, you might get the jump being his car is an automatic, but he'll run you down pretty fast after that. Let us know how it turns out. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

don't remember what year they changed engines. if 98 is still lt-1 it's a drivers race. If 98 is ls-1 you will need some 4.10's to make it a drivers race. But drivers can make a huge difference. oh and we want video. ray

good job. that a4 in the z must drag it down at the higher speeds. With m6 cars it is just the opposite. We tend to jump them in 1st and 2nd and then hang on and hope we hit the finish before they catch us. I know I need to have a car length on a m6 when I shift into 4th(4.10's) or they catch me in the last 100 - 200 ft of the 1320. of course I don't have your good breathing mods just U/D pullies and 4.10's.
