Av-gas has additives meant for airplane engines. Im not sure how that would affect a car motor.

Yeah, I use em all the time... on airplanes. JP-4, JP-8, AV-1, AV-GAS, and some others, the stuff is wicked dude, NOT something you want around your car, your person, etc. etc.

Crazy low flashpoints just don't make it worth it... also there are many many different types of airplane gasses, not just one type. If it's something you decide to pursue be sure you know what you're buying.

AV gas is intended for use in airplanes and it is not a good idea to use it in cars. There is much more to gasoline than octane rating.

Avgas has lead in it. It will seriously mess up your catalytic converters, probably your O2 sensors and sparkplugs. I'm on a race crew for a P-51 mustang and we use like 160 something octane race gas in it but the sparkplugs have to be changed after EVERY race because they get so much lead on them that it begins to foul them up pretty badly, even after just 25-35 minutes flight time.

you can run 100LL with no problems and you will have no problems with plug fouling. I worked on light aircraft for several years and ran 100ll in my stang and my girlfriends maro with no problems. It even works good with n20. just no cats.

I deal with military aviation gas, the serious stuff. Light aircraft commercial grade fuel is surely much safer, as you can't trust the public with crap like I deal with. Seriously, we're not even supposed to wear any wool when refueling, put our hands in our pockets, and we have to ground ourselves periodically during the refuel, because of static electricity buildup and the gas vapor's flashpoint. Where Im at we even use the 'safer' version, JP-8, as opposed to JP-4.

Me and my buddy used Av-gas in his car, and it ran fine. But there is one catch, this was a 69 cougar, but it ran just fine, infact it ran much better.
