everytime when i floor the car, and when it gets up to about 5000rpm's it will make a loud screeching sound. what could it be?

i think its a belt, cause it sounds like one of those old cars that squeak all the time, but if the belt is loose, wouldn't it squeak all the time?

Not if it is only slipping at high RPM. That just means it is just now slipping and you should do something about it now! Those POS cars you see squeelin all the time is because people IGNORE the signs!!!!!! [Big Grin]

Probably a belt. If that doesn't fix it, it may be a bearing on the alternator, water pump, etc...
