My 89 5.0 is running now from about 4 months of troubleshooting.. The only problem now is that when i down shift to second gear and come to a stop my car almost dies and the rpm's go down to 400 450 which is really low. I also hear big vibration noice when i accelerate over 3,000 rpm's. It seems like it could be my cat's but i am not sure.... any help will be appreciated.

If there are big vibration noises check the harmonic balancer.

Hey Anthony, glad to hear that you finally got that car running. As for solving the current problems - what all did you and your dad mess with when trying to fix it? Maybe one of these weekends I'll come down and see if I can help figure it out. By the way, I noticed in your sig that you didn't list the JBA headers you have on your car. Do you still have them??

Vibrations can also come from bad motor mounts, tranny mounts, and/or u-joints.
