I was wondering what the widest tire i can put on my stock 97 GT rims. They're 17's and hve 254's on them right now. Thanks

275 is what i have on my 8" rim, i wouldnt go any bigger

A 275 tire on an 8" wheel provides the same, if not less tread contact as a 245. 275s are too big for stock wheels, they fit, but aren't safe and don't offer any performance improvement. And yes, they do bulge out a lot on the sidewalls.
