I had a minor mishap while redoing my alternator's power wire. I shorted the wire against the fuel rail and smoked something near my starter soilenoid. Does the alternator power wire have a fuseable link? I have to cut off the wire and solder on a new segment. I just want to know if I have to go to AutoZone and pick up a fuseable link or not.

I would think that the fusible link would be on the positive wire right off the battery post about 8-12" away from the battery> No?
Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the offer. It has been a bad month for the LX indeed. It turns out the fuseable link didn't blow, but rather the wire between the fuseable link and the starter solenoid heated and melted the insulation around it. I'm heading down to AutoZone in the morning for a new one.
