I think that Apex is actually pretty reasonable when it comes to buying and installing the grigss sub frames from them. I think when i looked into it they quoted me a pretty fair price. It couldnt hurt to call

Ash, i hate to break the news to you, but there is nothing super about kb subs. You need to look at a few cars with subs first, and youll see what im talking about. The road race guys seem to have a better grip in this area.

I would advise going to a shop that does a lot of subframes. Any of the above are good. Have the torque boxes welded too while they are at it.

Apex would probably have said $400, definitely not them, lol.

get griggs or Maximum motorsports. KB subs are the thinnest out there.

Yes, Apex is very reasonable w/ a set of Griggs subframes and install. I think around $180 for everything.

so far, im happy about the griggs. the car has a lot less body roll goin around turns, and it elminates all minor chassis squeaks which were there before. i recommend them to any1! [patriot]

You think that is a good price??? The subs are what? $80-90 at the most. $110 for installation? I have never payed more than $30 to have subs installed on any of my past mustangs. It is a good connection, but I have gotten friends subs installed for $50 (reg price). Welded ALL the way down and then painted afterwards to help prevent rust.

Ash, Regardless of the price you couldn't have stood to save but $60-$70 and now you have them installed. I think that subframes are by far the least expensive and best mod to help prevent flex etc.

$100 for installation is not bad at all. When I was looking to get my MaximumMotorsport Full Length subs installed, one place quoted me $240 just for labor... [Eek!] and this place is listed on Griggs' website as an authorized Griggs dealer and installer...MM also had this place listed as well on their site...

I ended having them installed for $80 by a shop where the owner actually fabricates his own subframes... I think that was an awesome price considering that on 96-98 Cobras, the tranny cross member bolts onto the stock subframes, causing the installer to fabricate a new brace that bolts onto the new subframes which then will be welded up.

Shade-tree, give us some credit, man! [Confused]
The Griggs subframes are only $79.95 plus $112 to weld them in. With tax, it's right around $199. (Save 10% on the Griggs subframes in the month of November, and it's $8 less.) They're .120" wall 1"x2" steel, are contoured to the underside of the car, and _really_ strengthen up the chassis.
I agree with the others--KB subs are very spindly. They pretty much would just be dead weight were it not for the seat braces, which really do nothing on a connector that's rigid enough (aka Griggs).
