Whenever the 94 cobra is sitting at like 1600-1900rpm the steering wheel shakes pretty hard...then, when decelerating, it shakes really violently. We had the car aligned, and that didnt help...what else could it be?

you mean when driveing it shakes if so well you might need the tires balanced or one or both of the tires might be bad or your rims might not be round and finally your struts might be bad

just a few suggestions

That happened to me, turned out that the front tires were cupped just a little. I couldnt even tell they were until I put new ones on.

Yup, that is how my car was, rev the motor and when the idle was around 2000 dropping to 1500 it would shake, then I wake up one morning car is shaking like a b*tch, Balancer went bad... Might want to try that.

Stoplight was posting that question for me.

The cobra will shake violently under braking, so I think I need new rotors.

But, it will also shake, though not nearly as hard, when I'm just cruising at 1600-1900...so could that be the balancer? Thanks.

get new front rotors ($150-200) or get them resurfaced ($50) first and see what happens since its easier
