are breather caps good for anything besides cooling the oil. when i use to step on the gas hard i would usually leave a trail of blue smoke behind me, today i installed a breather cap and it doesnt do it anymore, could that be from the breather doing something or no.

the Oil breathers help release pressure in the crankcase also.. Most every blower car will have one

All breathers do is release the pressure built up inside the crankcase.

it is good for old engines because they have more blowby and that builds up in the crankcase.....my guess is if you rev your engine you will see the smoke coming from the breather now instead.
