hey guys, the oil cooler is leaking oil on my Cobra. It's coming from between the block and the cooler. I'm thinking the gasket went bad because when I changed my oil last night, I noticed my oil filter was on waaay too tight (last change was down at a Jiffy Lube while I was out of town).

Question #1: is there a gasket there?

Question #2: how much of a royal pain in the ass will this to be to fix in my driveway with basic hand tools (181 piece socket set, all the normal open ends and what not)

Question #3: will it take more than an hour you think? I got fined $200 for working on my car for more than the 1 hour limit. Definitely don't want to do that again.

Thanks for the help!

its very easy to fix.. take off your filter and you will see the threded part it spun onto. You will need what looks like a big hex head wrench to insert into the fitting. Remove it and the oil cooler will come right off. There is 2 O-rings that could be leaking but not a big deal..Hope this helps..

Gabe, you're were right, 1/2" hex was needed. Picked it up today, went on anothe rpost on corral where a guy suggested that the cooler housing just might be loose. Well, it was, I tighten her back up, no more leaks [Big Grin] too bad I didn't find out about this saturday morning, rather than sunday so I could race [Mad] oh well, there's always next time. Thanks man
