If the ECT sencor is bad will my car see some hard restart idle conditions? It will not hold an idle when I restart the motor after it's up to temp, unless I put it in gear.

Kind of rare for the ECT to go bad, but it can happen. Do this, in the morning with the motor ice cool (hasn't been driven for 12+ hours).... measure the voltage across the ACT and ECT. They both should be the same. If they're not, chances are one is bad.

Do I measure voltage or resistance. I check it with an ohm meter?

Sure you can unplug the connector on top of the sensor and measure its resistance (measured in ohms), or you can put the ignition in the ON position, poke the 2 wires on each sensor and measure the voltage across them. Post your results.

Its pretty rare for a MAP to go bad, the most comon cause for them to fail is a probably a nitrous back fire through the intake

Have you pulled the codes from your EEC yet? When you do, don't trip over a code 15 since you have a chip.
