I just got my car a couple months ago and last night was my first time to the drags. I have a silver 00 Saleen coupe and ran 14.0 at 101. My question is does anyone have any suggestions for newcomers to the drags? I got confused a couple of times as to what to do and my burnouts were pethetic!

Any help would be appreciated

Hey Adam welcome ot the site.. Did you happen to get a yellow flyer put on your car about 2 days ago ? I put one on a car that looked just like yours.. Anyways, about racing. If you can make it out on Saturday I'll be more then happy to show you a few tricks..your 14.0 isnt bad but you can inprove.Im my GF's car i went 13.8@99 w/ really hard suspension so that gives you an idea oh how fast you can be going..Let me know if you'll make it and I'll keep an eye out

Ya a 14.0 is not bad at all. but something you could do is go to the track more. not really having to race but just watch. you will see how it all works. and dont be nervous. just do what everyone else does (well except for the rice boys) and you will do great.

14 flat is just about right for an n/a Saleen. All it takes is lots of practice...especially w/ a Saleen. These cars aren't exactly the right weapon for drag racing (18" wheels, stiff suspension, etc). Just take advantage of the track since your so close [Wink]

Hey,
14 flat is a great time for the first time. You can easly get a 13.8 with some practice. Try launch of 1,500. Talk to Gabe.

Gabe- Saleen suspension is also really hard. Launch on corner-carving suspension is not the easiest.
