I know you pay for what you get, but this one has sold a lot through ebay. I was wondering if anybody here happened to buy this code reader and if so, how do you like it? Im not a mechanic by trade so im not spending 2k on a name brand reader lol I just need something simple, and if its crap, im only out 38 bucks. And I called auto parts stores (oreilly/autozone) to see if they can do a read for a SES light, and they said no.

Looks like a nice piece. Seller has good feedback and like you said, you'll only be out $38. I say do it.

This. Torque app and an ELM 327 bluetooth scanner. Total cost is about $30. I use it and it's a great setup. It's also customizable.

If you want to spend a little more, the LAUNCH c-reader VIII is like $250 on amazon. It is a very solid piece for the money. Used it quite a bit when I used to wrench at the Land Rover dealership. It does P codes, abs, srs, and has recordable pids.

if you have an iphone, I guess the recommended app and interface is "dashcommand" for 9.99 and GoPoint BT1 for 120.00.

http://gopoint-technology.mybigcommerce.com/gopoint-bt1-for-apple/

http://www.palmerperformance.com/products/dashcommand/index.php

it seems pretty hard to find compatible apps and interfaces, especially for apple, and if you do find it, it needs jailbreaking.

the sure shot, quality product (if you want to use your iphone for reads) is the dashcommand app and GoPoint BT1 interface.

Yep. And if it doesn't have the PID for the sensor, you can add it yourself.

Depends on the vehicle. Ford extended PIDs are pretty easy to find the info on. I know they have the PID info for Diesels, but not sure about gas engines.
